Hollywood Studios continues to get better. We love visiting Hollywood Studios each time we go to Walt Disney World, yet with the addition of Galaxy’s Edge, it seems this is the most popular park. Just like Epcot and

Disney is currently NOT OFFERING any Hollywood Studios Fastpass options on attractions. Use the information below and save it if you plan on traveling at a later date once Fastpasses return.
First of all, if you’re new to Disney vacation planning, check out my post – Disney World Tips for First Timers. If you would like a general guideline of Fastpass scheduling tips, I recommend checking out my post – Best Disney Fastpass Secrets.
PRO TIP – ARRIVE 15 MIN. BEFORE THE PARK OPENS. If you are staying on property and Hollywood Studios has early Magic Hours, use them and wake up earlier to make it on time. If you are not staying on property, find out which park does have early magic hours and do not go to that one! If you do, you will be competing with hundreds of people who arrived an hour before you.
Disney Hollywood Studios Fastpass Tips
A big question most people ask – No, Rise of the Resistance is not available for a Hollywood Studios Fastpass. In order to ride, you must use the Disney Experience App and log on at 7AM or 2PM to get a boarding pass. This is the only way to ride.
There are 15 Fastpass attractions at Hollywood Studios (three Tier 1 and ten Tier 2). This Disney Hollywood Studios Fastpass strategy is assuming that everyone in your party reaches the height requirements. I will start with the Tier 1 attractions here and what Fastpass strategy I recommend:
Tier 1 Rides
- Millennium Falcon
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Since the opening of Toy Story Land, those rides have moved to Tier 1, and the rest have been bumped to Tier 2. My recommendation is to get your Disney Hollywood Studios Fastpass for the newest attraction with the longest line – Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. If you cannot reserve a Fastpass for that attraction, then get one for Slinky Dog Dash. This clearly depends on your family’s preference. If you are a Star Wars fan, then Millennium Falcon may be the preference. If that is so, head to Slinky Dog Dash when the park opens and then Mickey’s Runaway Railway (or vice versa). Please be sure to check the park hours so that you can be there early before the park opens!

Tier 2 Rides
- Rock n Roller Coaster
- Tower of Terror
- Toy Story Mania
- Alien Swirling Saucers
- Star Tours
- Muppet Vision
- Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular (show)
- Voyage of the Little Mermaid (show)
- Disney Junior Live on Stage (show)
- Frozen Sing-Along Celebration (show)
- Beauty and the Beast (show)
- Fantasmic (show)
Disney Hollywood Studios Fastpass Strategy
The Disney Hollywood Studios Fastpass idea that I present below should be altered based upon your boarding time to Rise of the Resistance. Here is a sample Hollywood Studios Fastpass strategy below:
Rise of the Resistance Boarding
Ride Millenium Falcon
9AM – ride Slinky Dog Dash
9:30 – ride Toy Story Mania
10:00 – 11:00 Fastpass – Mickey’s Runaway Railway
Ride Alien Swirling Saucers/ Lunch
11:00 – 12:00 Fastpass – Tower of Terror
12:00 – 1:00 Fastpass – Rock n Roller Coaster

If anyone in your party wants to ride the Rock n Roller Coaster, you really should get a Fastpass for that one. It is extremely popular, the wait time is usually terrible and the line is pretty boring. You can usually ride Star Tours without a Fastpass, although you may want to get that one later on in the day. Tower of Terror is also pretty popular too and should be ridden with a Fastpass as the lines tend to get long.
Once you are in line for your last Disney Hollywood Studios Fastpass, click on the My Disney Experience app and check to see which Fastpass is available the soonest. Remember that after your original 3 Fastpasses, Disney only lets you get one Fastpass at a time, so pick the attraction closest to your current time, so that you can get another right after.

Disney Hollywood Studios Fastpass with Toddlers
If you are traveling with little ones, I would recommend the following: Get a Fastpass for Toy Story Mania, Disney Junior show, and priority seating at the nighttime Fantasmic show. When you arrive go to the Toy Story area to meet Woody and Buzz Lightyear or ride Alien Saucers first. Another option is checking the character meet and greet times and getting first in line for some of your child’s favorites.
